Nonprofits invited to Great Fish informational meeting
Whitefish Community Foundation will hold an informational meeting on Thursday, Jan. 26 for Flathead Valley nonprofits interested in applying to participate in the 2023 Great Fish Community Challenge. The meeting is scheduled for 8:00 to 10:30 a.m. at the O’Shaughnessy Center in Whitefish.
Attending the meeting is a required part of the application process for nonprofits that did not participate in the 2022 Great Fish Community Challenge, and it is highly recommended for all nonprofits that intend to apply. There is no charge to attend the meeting, however, advance registration is requested at whitefishcommunityfoundation.org/great-fish.
Coffee and pastries will be served at 8 a.m. in the lobby, followed by a presentation on the application process, eligibility requirements, rules for participating in the Challenge, and other information nonprofits need to determine whether the Challenge is a good fit for their organization. The Foundation will also share information about other grant programs, including Community Grants and Micro Grants, that might be more appropriate for nonprofits that are not ready to participate in the Challenge. After the presentation, nonprofits will have the opportunity to personally connect with Foundation staff and nonprofit colleagues.
The Great Fish Community Challenge is a multi-week fundraising campaign that incentivizes donors to give by offering a percentage match on the first $20,000 raised by each organization. Since 2015, the Challenge has raised over $22 million for more than 85 Flathead Valley charities, while broadening awareness about the critical work of local nonprofit organizations.
